Livingston Mall, Livingston, NJ

Livingston Mall is just the local mall you can find anywhere. One thing different about Livingston Mall is that it is close to The Mall at Short Hills. Livingston Mall’s life began in 1971 with a Bamberger’s. A year later in 1972 the actual Livingston Mall opened for business. With anchor stores, Sears, M. Epstein, and Hahne & Company. The mall benefited from a migration of the population to Northern Jersey. They also benefited of shoppers not shopping in downtown Newark anymore. In 1985 Hahne & Co. gave way to Lord & Taylor. At the same time M.Epstein also closed because they were owned by the same company as Hanes. M. Epstein was converted into an annex for Macy’s. In 1986 Bamberger’s was transformed into a Macy’s. I have been keeping an eye on this mall for the past few years and have noticed some things They only renovated one entrance There Bath & Body Works just renovated They have slowly been becoming an outlet mall Examples for Outlets: Loft Outlet,

Tory Burch & Apple Bellevue Square, & Tory Burch Close Bravern

We have some tea from the Seattle area today. A few days ago Tory Burch closed their store at The Shops at The Bravern and moved to The Bellevue Collection a few days ago, (specifically Bellevue Square). Tory Burch is on the level one near Nordstrom. Apple’s Genius Bar has been removed from the Bellevue store. However the whole store wasn’t remolded. The Sad State of Northgate

It’s time to say goodbye to the oldest mall in the country. Northgate Mall, seven miles north of downtown Seattle will close their doors soon. Northgate opened in 1950 as an open air mall. I think Simon the mall’s owner is making a costly mistake. Not just in money but they are losing the 52 shops they currently have. They recently lost Bath & Body Works so you know the end is near when they leave your mall. However they still have many national chains like Clares, Kay Jewelers, Northgate Mall’s close proximity to downtown Seattle (Photo via Google Maps) and Foot Locker. A few weeks ago it was announced Nordstrom would be closing their Northgate store in August. Nordstrom closing a store in Seattle, that’s a first! Macy’s is also closing their Northgate store and JCPenney left this past spring. No closing or demolition date has been set, it’s still unclear if they are even demolishing the mall. Let’s make a list of ALL of the national chains that have closed at Northgate

GNC Closing 900 Stores!

GNC is actually closing stores! I am not surprised, to be honest it’s about time they close a few or a few hundred stores because they have GNC in my town in a dying plaza I think that is one of the locations they are planning to close. GNC at Merritt Square Mall in Merritt Island, FL, an hour east of Orlando

Century ||| Mall “Fire”!

One of America’s most famous dead malls supposedly had a fir yesterday! Century ||| is located in West Mifflin, PA, near Pittsburgh. The mall was forced to close last February with only a few stores remaining inside including; Bath & Body Works  Foot Locker  Victoria’s Secret  They had two anchors when the mall closed Dick’s Sporting Goods and JCPenney. Dick’s Sporting Goods has since closed. Century ||| is supposed to be demolished and is owned by Moonbeam of Las Vegas. JCPenney at Queens Center in New York City

Triangle Town Center Placed in Forclousure!

RALEIGH, NC - Triangle Town Center has been placed into foreclosure. The future right now is very uncertain for Triangle Towm Center but I will keep you informed. The mall has five anchors Belk, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sears, Macy’s, and Dillard’s. I am concerned for the mall because it’s fairly new, 2002 to be exact. It is the same age as The Streets at Southpoint in nearby Durham, NC. I am most concerned about Saks because they have bern the mall’s only luxury tenant since 2004. (This is Saks store at Brickell City Centre in Miami.)

Starcourt Mall from Stranger Things is FAKE!

Their is no mall called Starcourt Mall. Starcourt Mall is actually Gwinnett Place Mall near  Atlanta. Gwinnett Place is actually a dead mall. I found a Google search called “is starcourt mall real”. I actually can answer that for you. IT’S FAKE! Starcourt isn’t real but Gwinnett Place IS. Real Malls are actually places on Earth. Fake Malls are malls in social media world. I have two examples for you from Miami. Aventura Mall, a real mall in Miami, Florida Mall of Miami from Austin and Ally is  FAKE!

Nordstrom is Closing TOO MANY Stores!

Nordstrom has been closing so many stores ! I thought they were one of the only department stores that didn’t have that issue but apparently I’m wrong. Let’s take a look at ALL of the stores they have closed or are closing in 2019. After we look at the stores we will spill more tea about Nordstrom. Anchorage 5th Avenue Mall, Anchorage, AK The Mall at Wellington Green, Wellington, FL Providence Place, Providence, RI Northgate Mall, Seattle, WA McArthur Center, Norfolk, VA Stonestown Galleria, San Francisco, CA The Mall At Partridge Creek, Clinton Township, MI Those are SEVEN Nordstrom stores that are closing. However this Fall they are opening a full line store at The SoNo Collection in Norwalk, CT near New York City. I also can think of some stores that wouldn’t surprise me to see shuttered. Nordstrom’s Last Christmas at Providence Place (2018) Closed Nordstrom at Providence Place (2019)

Simon’s Stock is Down!

I am surprised! Simon’s stock is down. They aren’t the only shopping mall company with low stocks. Tubman’s stock is also on the low side. I don’t think Taubman should have low stocks like Simon because Taubman doesn’t nearly have as many properties as Simon Simon is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana and Taubman is headquartered  near Detroit. I prefer Simon over Taubman. Westfarms A Taubman Mall in West Hartford, CT (In Between New York City and Boston) South Shore Plaza, A Simon Mall in Braintree, MA (Near Boston, MA)

Charming Charlie is Closing!

HOUSTON, TX- Charming Charlie is closing ALL of there stores! 261 to be exact. This isn’t the first time the chain closed stores. In 2016 they closed stores and now they are going bankrupt. I had I feeling this was going to happen and I feel bad for all of the Charming Charlie employees. Charming Charlie at The Avenue Viera, Melbourne, FL (2018)

The Malls of New Orleans

As most people in the United States heard New Orleans is currently an evacuation zone due to Tropical Storm Barry’s path. Lets take a look at The Malls of New Orleans hours before the storm make landfall. The Esplanade The Esplanade is located in the town of Kenner. The Esplanade is has been on life support. It’s owner is Kohan Retail Group, which is infamous for owning dead malls. They currently have 135 stores and four anchors. Their anchors are Dillard’s and Target. The mall was only closed for two months after Hurricane Katrina and didn’t need to be rebuilt. I hope the mall doesn’t get majorly damaged if any. Oakwood Center Oakwood Center is located in Gretna and is no stranger to damage. During Hurricane Katrina over 80% of the mall was damaged by fire and water the worst damage for a mall during Hurricane Katrina. The mall was demolished and was rebuilt and opened in 2007. I hope the damage isn’t bad or no damage at all. Lakeside Shopping Center  Lakeside is the most

Welcome to Mall Tea

Welcome to Mall Tea! I am Sammy and on this blog it’s all about malls. We will talk about different malls, trends, and what I like and dislike about certain malls and just malls in general. Emerald Square, North Attleboro, MA (In between Boston, MA and Providence, RI)
